How to prepare for core needle breast biopsy?

1. You have to make an appointment to reserve the equipment and examination room.

2. Usually, no special preparation is necessary. Doctor or nurse will tell you if any special diet or medication instructions are necessary for you.

3. When you make an appointment or before perform the procedure, you should report the history to the doctor as below:

• Difficult to stop bleeding
• Anemia
• Taking aspirin,a blood thinner or antiplatelet medication e.g. Plavix^®
• Allergies, especially to anesthesia, betadine or alcohol
